CEB Award for Social Cohesion 2025: shortlist announced

PARIS – The Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) is pleased to announce the eight finalists for the CEB Award for Social Cohesion 2025. Following the selection of the winner and two runners-up by an international Jury of experts, the Award ceremony will be taking place in Budva, Montenegro, on 3 April, ahead of the CEB's 58th Joint Meeting.

Launched in 2020, the CEB Award recognises outstanding contributions to social cohesion across Europe. The Award continues to provide tangible support to social entrepreneurs and social economy organisations across the Bank's 43 member countries.

In 2025, the CEB Award will bestow a €45 000 prize on an outstanding project that addresses pressing social issues, in addition to recognising another two shortlisted projects that will receive €5 000 each.

Selected among 95 entries from 26 member countries, the shortlisted projects for the sixth edition of the Award include:

Living with Dignity, Ryder Albania Association, Albania

The project enhances the quality of life for elderly facing terminal illnesses by providing compassionate home-based end-of-life care.

Early Intervention in the Community, Theotokos Foundation, Greece

The project addresses the lack of early detection and intervention for developmental difficulties in children aged 1.5 to 4 years in the municipalities of Ilion and Agion Anargyroi/Kamateros. It delivers screening, assessment, and intervention services to over 2 500 children.

Capacity, Fondazione MeSSInA, Italy

The project is looking to regenerate shanty towns in Messina, Sicily, improving climate resilience and creating new opportunities in education, employment, housing, and social integration for marginalised individuals and families.

UnfOlding, Hekate Conscious Ageing Foundation, Netherlands

The project engages European communities to address pressing social challenges including ageing, climate change, and housing crisis, while promoting environmental, social, and economic sustainability.

Superarte, Fundacio Sifu, Spain

The project promotes the development, integration, inclusion, and talent of artists with disabilities through artistic scholarships and technological innovation that creates artistic opportunities for people with disabilities.

Digital Twin, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Türkiye

The project seeks to enhance Istanbul's ability to cope with natural disasters by incorporating real-time data, and artificial-intelligence-powered analyses into crisis management and rapid post-disaster response.

Sylni Together, Charitable foundation Sylni, Ukraine

The project provides free and confidential medical care and psychotherapy to survivors of sexual violence in Ukraine, fostering a community of healing, dignity, and social cohesion while promoting zero tolerance for violence and reducing stigma.

Nesemos Veteran Auto Hub, Ukraine

The project combines employment opportunities and hands-on vocational training in the automotive industry for Ukrainian veterans and internally displaced persons (IDPs), who repair evacuation vehicles and provide high-quality auto services for civilians.
