PARIS - The CEB’s 6th capital increase became effective on December 31, 2011, reaching a subscription rate of 75%, therefore exceeding the minimum threshold of 67%.
The CEB’s subscribed capital thus increased from € 3.3 billion to € 4.9 billion. Once all Member States have subscribed, this figure will reach € 5.5 billion. The subscription period will continue to run until June 30, 2012.
CEB’s Governor Rolf Wenzel said: “I welcome that the capital increase became effective and I express my appreciation for the continued strong support from CEB’s member countries. In times of an increasingly challenging economic outlook, the strengthened capital base will enable the CEB to vigorously pursue its mandate of focusing on the social cohesion in its Member States”.
