16 October 2013
PARIS - Governor Wenzel led the CEB delegation to the annual meetings of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF), which took place in Washington from 11 to 13 October 2013.
As in previous years, this event provided an opportunity to meet with representatives of CEB Member States, as well as with CEB’s main banking partners.
Governor Wenzel participated in the meetings of the Development Committee and of the International Monetary and Financial Committee, and had talks with high-level officials from the IMF and the World Bank.
Governor Wenzel also took part in a roundtable hosted by IFC (International Finance Corporation), a member of the World Bank Group. The meeting gathered over 20 International Financial Institutions which pledged closer collaboration to support private sector development. He declared: “Job creation and addressing social imbalances rank high on the social agenda throughout Europe and we welcome today’s joint commitment by IFIs to support our member countries in achieving these goals. As a European Multilateral Development Bank with a social mandate, CEB will continue to support employment by financing investments in particular of MSMEs and in municipal infrastructure in its Member States.”
