The CEB signs a Memorandum of Understanding with the EBRD
10 October 2013
WASHINGTON - The President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Sir Suma Chakrabarti, and the Governor of the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB), Mr Rolf Wenzel, met today to discuss issues of common interest and signed a Memorandum of Understanding.Signed in the fringe of the Annual Meetings of the Word Bank and the International Monetary Fund, this instrument, of a general scope, updates the existing bilateral agreement between the EBRD and the CEB. It sets out an updated framework of cooperation between the two Banks that seeks to enhance the combined impact of their respective operations in common countries of operations. To that purpose, the emphasis is put on a reinforced dialogue, notably by foreseeing regular exchanges of information to facilitate operational collaboration both in their extensive relationship with the EU institutions and instruments, and in joint operations in areas where their mandates overlap, including inter alia to support development of the SME sector.
