PARIS - Meetings of the Executive Committee and Administrative Council on 29 January 2010: 175 million euros worth of projects approved.

Belgium
A project worth 125 million euros with the Walloon Housing Association (WHA) aimed at part-financing thermal insulation work on 80 000 social dwellings throughout the Walloon Region.

WHA’s objective is to achieve an annual saving of 300 000 tons of CO² thanks to improvements in the energy performance of each of the dwellings concerned. Increased control of energy consumption will also make it possible to reduce the financial costs borne by tenants in a precarious socio-economic situation.

Poland
A project worth 50 million euros with Bank Ochrony Środowiska S.A. in favour of local authorities in Poland.

The CEB funds will finance works aimed primarily at improving living conditions for the local population. More particularly, these works will involve the construction/renovation of public infrastructure such as road networks, local transport, medical and social facilities and, more generally, infrastructure that contributes to urban and rural modernisation.

The CEB loan will also contribute to protecting the environment by providing for the construction of solid waste and wastewater treatment plants and the renovation of hydrotechnical installations in order to better prevent against ecological risks.
