Project approvals

PARIS - 5 projects approved by the Administrative Council for a total amount of 269 million euros.

Bosnia and Herzegovina
A project worth 11 million euros with the Government, to co-finance with the EBRD the construction of the Plava Voda regional water supply network, for the benefit of five municipalities in the Lašva Valley.  Currently, less than half of the country’s rural population has access to running water. This project will focus on improving water infrastructure and, consequently, on water quality.

Poland
A project worth 50 million euros with Bank Gospodarki Żywnościowej, to facilitate SME access to medium and long term loans to finance their productive investments, thereby contributing to strengthening their competitiveness and to preserving and creating jobs.

Serbia
A project for an amount of 18 million euros with the Government, to finance the construction and equipping of a new prison, in Pančevo, that will have a capacity to house 500 inmates in conditions that comply with European Prison Rules, and which will replace the current overpopulated district penitentiary complex.

Spain
A project worth 140 million euros with Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, in order to contribute to financing investments made by local and regional authorities in public infrastructure. The CEB loan will also enable the financing of projects in Andalusia involving urban renovation and development undertaken within the framework of the JESSICA Initiative.

Turkey
A project worth 50 million euros with Türkiye Halk Bankası, to provide financing for SMEs, which represent 99% of all Turkish enterprises and employ 75% of the working population. The CEB loan will enable Halk Leasing, a Halkbank subsidiary, to respond to the strong demand for medium term leasing, in particular, from the country’s very small businesses.
