Albania
This project, with Fondi BESA, aims at providing financial resources for loans to micro and small entrepreneurs, usually self employed, to encourage the creation of sustainable businesses in Albania (5 million euros).
Croatia
This project, with Hrvatska banka za obnovu i razvitak (HBOR), will part finance productive investments undertaken by small and medium-sized enterprises in order to promote sustainable social and economic development in Croatia (50 million euros).
Ireland
Two projects with DEPFA Bank plc Ireland:
- the first will enable the construction of an up-to-date, innovative cancer treatment centre (proton therapy) located within the University Hospital of Kiel in Germany (50 million euros)
- the second is part of the Irish Ministry for Education and Science "Schools Programme", and will enable the construction of six post-primary schools located in the counties of Ferbane, Banagher and Portlaoise (35 million euros).
Moldova
Two projects with Moldova Agroind Bank:
- the first is aimed at improving access to housing loans for medium income people to purchase their primary residences in Moldova (3 million euros).
- the second will provide financial resources to on-lend to small entrepreneurs in order to facilitate the creation and development of sustainable businesses in Moldova (2 million euros).
Slovenia
This project, with Nova Kreditna Banka Maribor d. d., will finance investments undertaken by small/ medium sized municipalities and public and private companies performing public services in order to foster improvements in living conditions in urban and rural areas and to stimulate environmental protection, education and health services (30 million euros).
Since the beginning of 2008, the Council of Europe Development Bank has approved 31 projects, for a total amount of 1 514 million euros.
