Modernisation of Pančevo Prison

This WBIF grant has covered the cost of technical supervision services, including the defect notification period, associated with the construction and equipping of a new prison in Pančevo. The new facility was commissioned in October 2018. It has been built according to European Prison Rules and can thus: provide accommodation with two prisoners per cell and space for socialising; eliminate conditions which infringe on prisoners' human rights; and, allow prisoners to engage in work activities and vocational training.
