This PFF aims to support Reykjavík Energy to enhance the long-term living conditions in the Reykjavík capital area, and more specifically to renew and expand the potable and hot water distribution systems, heating distribution and sewage infrastructure and to improve public transport infrastructure. The loan will partially finance eligible investments in line with Reykjavík City's urban development plan. The loan will particularly co-fund the following: renewal and expansion of hot water distribution system; potable water distribution system, reinvestment, and refurbishment; sewage and rainwater system infrastructure for the City Line “Borgarlina”; and sewage and water systems in the neighbourhoods of Ártúnshöfði and Hlemmur.

Final beneficiaries: the entire population of the Reykjavík capital area, including vulnerable groups, migrants, and low-income households
