Report of the Governor 2024
In 2024 the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) provided essential support for its member countries, strongly affirming its role as the social development bank for Europe.
The 2024 Report of the Governor highlights the CEB's crucial role in addressing pressing social challenges by investing in people, promoting inclusive and resilient living environments, and supporting social and economic inclusion across Europe. The Bank approved 44 new projects, totalling €4.5 billion, in 22 member countries, from Ukraine to Iceland. The projects cover social sectors such as healthcare, education, affordable housing and microfinance, as well as emergency support, with a particular focus on empowering vulnerable groups and leaving no one behind.
The latest report underlines the importance of partnerships, as the CEB strengthened its collaboration with the EU and took over as Chair of the Heads of Multilateral Development Bank Group for 2025.
