Official visit to Cyprus by Governor Alomar

PARIS - A delegation from the CEB led by Governor Alomar, accompanied by Vice-Governor Tarafás, made an official visit to the Cypriot Authorities from 1 to 3 December.

On this occasion, meetings were held with the Minister of Finance and the Permanent Secretary, the Minister of Education and the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, as well as the President of the House of Representatives.

The Governor also signed several loan agreements reaching a total amount of nearly 150 million euros: with the Mayors of Nicosia and Paphos, in the presence of the supervisory authorities and cosignatories for projects involving urban regeneration and sanitation, and with the Government for the development of the education system.

For the CEB delegation this trip was also an opportunity to visit projects financed by the Bank, namely: the University of Cyprus, a primary school and a waste water treatment plant serving the municipality of Nicosia and its surroundings.
