31 October 2011

Paris/Ankara - A loan agreement for an amount of 100 million euros was signed between Türkiye Halk Bankası A.Ş. (Halkbank) and the CEB, aimed at financing productive investment projects undertaken by micro, small and medium-sized enterprises throughout Turkey.

The CEB loan will contribute to improve Turkish SMEs’ access to adequate sources of finance which is critical for their development and their ability to maintain and create jobs.

Halkbank’s General Manager, Mr Süleyman Aslan, said on this occasion that “Halkbank and the CEB are joining forces to help SMEs realize their investments and create new job opportunities. We hope our cooperation will provide support and motivation to SME initiatives throughout the country”.

The CEB’s Vice-Governor, Mr Imre Tarafás, pointed out that “in cooperating with Halkbank, the CEB will be partnering with one of Turkey’s foremost SME financing institutions”. Established more than 70 years ago, Halkbank is serving the banking requirements of artisans, craftspeople and small to medium enterprises through a large network of branches located not only in urban centres and industrialized areas, but also in the less developed, more rural regions of Turkey.
