The CEB and SDGs

The CEB has selected a set of ten key SDGs closest to the Bank’s mandate and three lines of action. Grouped into three distinct categories – Alignment with the CEB’s core social mandate, Cross-cutting issues, and Project-specific relevance – the CEB’s ten key SDGs are the following:

Since early 2020, the CEB has been making the link between the projects it finances and their potential contribution to a set of relevant SDGs. Early in the project cycle, each project is reviewed and mapped to a number of the CEB’s ten key SDGs (see the overview below) – i.e. those that best align with the institution’s mandate and priority lines of action. All CEB projects approved since 2020 have been screened against the ten key SDGs. Derived from the Bank’s core social mandate, each of the projects financed is linked either to, primarily, SDG 10 (Reduced inequalities) or to SDG 1 (No poverty), or to both.
