Sustainability Report

Since 2009, the CEB has provided an annual account of its approach to sustainability. The Bank's overall contribution to socially and environmentally sustainable development is reflected in the Sustainability Report and its companion Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Report.

The Bank is currently reviewing its sustainability reporting framework and plans to report in line with ISSB Standards – the global baseline for disclosure of sustainability-related financial information – going forward.

GRI Report

The 2025 Report of sustainability/ESG indicators was prepared on the basis of the internationally recognised standard for sustainability reporting, namely the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and in accordance with the GRI Standards 2021.

The GRI Report 2025 provides an overview of sustainability considerations in the CEB’s financing and non-financing services and in its day-to-day functioning and staff management.

TCFD Report

This report is prepared in accordance with the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) presents how the Bank manages risks and opportunities linked to climate change.

ESG Ratings

The Bank’s overall sustainability performance is periodically assessed by ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) rating agencies. 

The CEB is currently rated:

  • ‘Prime’ by ISS ESG (July 2023)
  • ‘Leader’ by MSCI ESG (July 2025) [1]
  • ‘Negligible ESG Risk’ by Sustainalytics (January 2026)
