The CEB is part-financing key energy efficiency projects in Spain’s Castilla y León region. The projects, being implemented by SOMACYL, the region’s public utility company, are promoting a more sustainable approach to heating and lighting.
Energy efficiency is a key focus for the Bulgarian government. Since 2016 it has been implementing a programme to update large parts of its housing stock to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. A €150 million loan from the CEB is helping to finance the programme.
Limerick, Ireland’s third largest city, is implementing an urban development scheme to bring back business and people to its centre. An €85 million CEB loan to Limerick City and County Council will finance much of this transformation.
